Doris Glovier

Doris Glovier’s paintings are largely inspired by the beauty and majesty of the Atlantic Ocean, the Chesapeake Bay and coastal habitat. Other favorite subjects include portraiture and figural paintings of the people who live and vacation on the coast. Prior to embarking on a fine art career path, she was an author of three books and designer in the Arts & Craft industry. Her designs and related articles have been published in nationally distributed magazines and industry publications. She currently works in watercolor & oils. Doris is a full-time, self-representing artist who paints daily in her studio and in plein air. She also teaches painting and hosts an Open Studio.

Anne Reder

When Anne retired from a nursing career fourteen years ago, she re-invented herself as an artist. After juggling watercolor classes with carer and family for years, she was finally able to expand her creative pursuits to include drawing and oil painting classes. It was total immersion in her avocation…pure joy.

It has been observed that artists view colors around them very differently than non artists. Anne feels so fortunate to be part of this creative world where a myriad of hues, warms and cools present  a constant barrage for the senses. Landscapes, animals and people are all subjects that  Anne appreciates.  She enjoys plein air painting as well as studio work. There is a great feeling of satisfaction and peace to feel so connected to the natural world through art.

She approaches each painting as a puzzle to be solved. To design an infinite array of colors, shapes, values and edges in a pleasing arrangement which also tells a story, is always an exciting challenge. It is the artists’ hope that the viewer will feel an emotional connection to each piece and be able to continue their own story.

Art group memberships include MAPAPA ( Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association), Baltimore Plein Air Club and Working Artists Forum, a juried artist group centered on the Eastern Shore of Md. These groups offer ample opportunities for both juried and non juried shows in the surrounding area.

Chris Rapa

Chris Rapa is an American artist, living in Catonsville, Maryland. Her work ranges from representational still life and landscape paintings, to murals and innovative wall finishes. Chris exhibits in national juried shows, and competes in plein-air events across the country. Chris has found plein-air painting to be particularly rewarding, bringing a bounty of amazing friends from around the world into her life, and helping her grow as a painter. This July, Chris was honored to receive 1st place in the 2023 Plein Air Easton Quick Draw, non- competition artists division.
